The Refugees crisis is one of the biggest challenges of our time and the answer from the western countries will be the key to solve the problem. Spain has a large experience receiving immigrants from the African coast. Near 7.000 people tried to reach the Spanish coast during 2015, the 57% of them were Syrian refugees. In order to solve this problem from the first second they reach the country, we have decided to place our tower on the southern coast of Spain. The construction will be self-made by the refugees and they will participate in the organization of the community, the tower will always be in permanent construction, adapting itself to the demands of its residents. The energy consumed in the building will proceed from renewable sources, reducing the costs of maintenance.
The building is 16 m. wide and 125 m. long, divided in 4 modules with 3 communications cores. In the ground levels are placed the basic first services that the refugees must receive, either if they decide to reside in the tower or not. The sea rescue unit is directly connected to the health care facility, in the third module is placed the reception and documentation area in different levels and in the fourth is the warehouse with access for trucks with donated food. Above these modules we can find different common places such as a praying area, cyber-café, babysitting place, local market, kitchen and refectory. The dwellings are intersected with common leisure areas and its distribution can be changed by its residents. The housing modules are prepared on the ground floor with help from the refugees and volunteers and raised to the top of the tower by one of the cranes of the building. Inside the structure the modules have access to either a balcony or the central corridor. Each floor is equipped with public toilets and showers. We estimate that 4.500 refugees can be host in 50 stores.
Refugees are not a problem, they are victims of a war, with this project we want to let them be part of the solution to their drama. We want them to build their new future from the first step they put in our country.

WELCOME. BIENVENIDOS.
